" Education is about inspiring one's mind and not just filling their head" - Suli Breaks

The day I decided I was going to be a teacher, I was in Year 6. The reasoning behind my precocious thinking was simple:

"I could do all the things my favourite teachers did...but better."

Inspired by the role of being an educator from a young age, I was always observant of the teachers around me. I observed their mannerisms, teaching climate, their reciprocity towards students...everything - to the point I had a (mentally written) bestselling book about
what being the 'BEST TEACHER EVER' entailed.
Experience since, has led me to realise that this would not be the most prudent thing to say in a room full of teachers; but in terms of self-belief, it is my magnificent obsession. It drives me to be better in my practise every day. It allows me to wake up every day with a burning desire to seize the days/weeks/months ahead. I forefront the word obsessed here with certainty. I will always be unapologetically obsessed towards this pursuit.

Here I am, over a decade on, as reinvigorated as ever. Mindful of my own 'survivorship bias' in education, my ultimate aim is to impart knowledge through understanding motivation in an objective way; knowing that every learner has a different story, background and walk of life, and tailoring my approach(es) from there.

I'm humbled to say I worked in a plethora of contrasting school and educational environments; in various roles ranging from Pastoral Leader to English Teacher (and much in between) - and luckily for the sake of my professional development, at a younger age than most can say they were lucky enough to begin their school careers.

The only thing changing about my Year 6 epiphany now being I want to push on further with hopes of leading behaviour and ethos at a school where I can really drive culture to make a difference.

About Me
An English and Media graduate who - having studied Film and Literature at Warwick University in my first year, and then English and Media at Birmingham University (from Year 2 onwards), has gained a wide variety of transferable skills as well as an excellent insight into these disciplines and keenness to apply this knowledge.

"My conviction is to lead Behaviour and Ethos within a school that I can really drive culture [,..] and also be able to share my passion for English and Media through teaching."
A schooling system that has rewarded me with so much as a student from inner-city Birmingham - I am profoundly grateful. It has left me with a personal affinity to want to contribute to it, and its' betterment. Therefore, my desire is to make a positive difference for the next generation and inspire young minds. Simply put, I want to be that teacher/figure I so badly needed growing up.

Besides my career goals and academic background, I enjoy going to the gym, keeping healthy and lifting weights. I also love Football and Boxing.
